Validation Rules for IRP5 code 2022 in the electronic file are:
• Mandatory if registered for SDL
• Must consist of 1 alpha and 9 numerical characters
• Must start with an “L”
• Must be a valid reference number (apply modulus 10 test)
• If PAYE reference number is completed, last 9 digits of SDL reference number must be the same as last 9 digits of PAYE
reference number, except if the PAYE number starts with 0, 1, 2, 3 or 9
• If the UIF reference number is completed, the last 9 digits of the SDL number must be the same as the last 9 digits of the UIF
reference number.
